Fin de semana
A bit late but still wanted to share.
BBQ for my friend Jen's housewarming/birthday, necklace making and supplies shopping, and a discovery - Novecento.
OMG was I excited to find such a well curated vintage furniture store in the neighborhood. Then..... I visited their website and realized that the shopping spree I had in mind was not going to happen. Though they are pricey, their pieces are impeccable so it could be worth it if you've got the cash.
I want this chandelier so bad that it hurts...
The 4th
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! We spent the 4th watching a friend play in the Hermosa Beach volleyball tournament sponsored by Bud Light. Yep, it was completely sponsored so that meant lots of free booze and lots happy people.
I only wish the America on Wheels van we spotted Downtown would have joined us.

Fin de semana
It was a Westside weekend with lunch at the Annenberg Community Beach House and time with family at The Getty.
Many thanks to the foundations of J. Paul Getty and Walter Annenberg for creating such amazing public spaces.
Art Deco Heaven
The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood is an absolute dream. I tried taking photos of the inside of the theatre but they didn't come out very well (the ones above are from the powder room and foyer). By the time we were seated, I was so mesmerized by the decor that I didn't want the lights to go down. Simply beautiful.
ps. who would kill for a vanity room with mirrors like that?!?
Fin de semana
Down the street
The boyfriend won tickets to a show at The Mayan Theater and since neither of us had ever been, we were excited to check it out.
The venue was about a ten minute walk from my place and though we didn't love the headliner too much (we left early), we did enjoy feeling like we were on an Indiana Jones set. One of the openers, Everest, had a giant disco ball and we joked that it was going to come loose and roll into the audience!
En route back home we got a night cap at Broadway Bar, one of my faves in the neighborhood and another spot with amazing decor...a blend between art deco and art nouveau.
With a taco truck dinner added to the mix, it was a perfect night in the neighborhood.
Fin de semana
Purchased organic cotton for lining some new bags
Bar gathering in Santa Monica for friends who are moving to NYC...we'll miss you!
Breakfast munchies a la Colombian
Heritage Square - Victorian homes from LA's former elite neighborhoods
Dinner doesn't get more original than this
Fin de semana
Scenic route through beautiful oak tree covered neighborhoods in Pasadena.
My dream home of the moment. It's modern, small, has native plants, and overlooks The Arroyo and Rose Bowl.
Some of the best fish tacos around are found at Gerlach's. And yes, it's that little kiosk looking place next to the liquor store.
Ride up to Dodger Stadium via China Town. Love how prominent City Hall looks in the mirror.
7th inning stretch. I needed it after two Dodger Dogs!
It was the boyfriend's birthday so that meant no work for ANAMU! We revved up his bike, bought me a new helmet, and rode around town. Not pictured here was an amazing dinner at Dish Bistro and the best movie experience ever at Gold Class Cinemas, both in Old Pasadena. I like Joe's birthday :)
Fin de semana
I <3 my neighborhood. Ran several errands on Sat in prep for Unique LA.
New vintage shop, Haute Olive Boutique, just opened up down the street from me...this is going to be dangerous. Separate blog post to come.
Niece Juliana. Too cool for school as we stroll down the mean streets of Old Pasadena.
This weekend felt long, productive, and relaxing. I haven't had such a balanced Sat & Sun in a while (ANAMU, resting, boyfriend, family, chores, etc). Too many great little things to photograph and write about ... hope that this continues to be the norm :)
