friday pic & pin 22 Happy Friday guys! I'm so excited to enjoy KL this weekend...I'm really starting to fall in love with it here. I had a few key moments yesterday where I just thought "yes, this feels good" like when I helped guide a lovely couple visiting from Europe (felt like such a local), discovered a Colombian restaurant (hello soul food!), and enjoyed dinner under a canopy while it rained like crazy and the skies turned white with lightning. I recently made a list of things to see and do in/near the city and the goal is to do at least one of them each weekend that we are home. Top on the list is to visit a palm oil plantation so when I saw this vintage pattern of palm tree varieties I was instantly attracted to it. We'll see what we cross off the list this weekend. I hope you have a great one!

This week's three rad links...

friday pic & pin 21 An upside to being sick this week? Having the excuse to sit on the couch and browse online for wedding dresses. I fell in love with this one by Parker and I could totally see myself wearing it again and again. That's what I'll be going for, a pretty dress that I can continue to enjoy even after saying "i do". Sparkles optional.

Have a great weekend!

I hope you have a good one!

friday pic & pin 19 Happy weekend, everyone. We're off to London for a few days and I am really pushing my packing time to the limit. It's always such a last minute thing for me but I'll do my best take the pieces that have been out of rotation since we moved to the tropics  (poor sweaters ain't getting any love!). I'll use the sassy lady above as inspiration, she is just too perfect.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

friday pic & pin 18 Happy Friday, guys I'm ending my time in LA with a bang tonight - I'm off to Vegas! I'm going with my besties and even though I'll only be there for a little over 24 hours it's totally going to be worth it. The car ride alone has me giddy - four hours of solid one-on-one time with some of the people I love the most and hardly ever see? Yes please!

I fly back to LA tomorrow night and then Sunday is my final farewell. It's going to be a non-stop couple of days but hey, I have a thirteen hour flight to sleep it all off on. As the kids say these days, YOLO! Yeah, I had to google that...we'll see how this old lady fares in Vegas...

Have a great weekend and start to next week, see ya back here on Wednesday!

friday pic & pin 17 It's been a great week of catching up with friends all over town and getting local things done. I've literally been all over the map from orange county to the valley and Sunday will take me to the westside for a brunch in Venice. Each area has different memories and associations for me so it's almost as if each chapter of my life is a different zip code and I'm flipping through the pages as I drive along.  It's a trip.

We'll see what stories are created this weekend.

Have a good one!

friday pic & pin 16 Happy Friday, guys. Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? I'll be enjoying our home, working on some projects, and getting super excited for my visit to LA next month(!!!). Yep, Joe is making me go. I'm happy that he gave me the push to book the flights because I do miss my family and friends like CRAZY. I was trying to hold out until next year but my initial wish to visit every six months seems like it has to be reality in order to keep me going. Seeing this pin for a fancy quesadilla made me smile and think of the wonderful Mexican food I will soon devour. Cali, imma comin'!

Have a great weekend!

friday pic & pin 15 TGIF - we're off to Vietnam for our first real beach holiday in SE Asia and I feel like a little girl on her last day of school. Joe and I have been really busy lately so I can't wait to get to the hotel/island and have no option but to just cchhiilll. It'll be four days of sun, sand, and maybe some rain. The tropical kind is okay though - I'll take a downpour while wearing a bikini rather than a coat any day!

I'll be back here on Wednesday but will probably sneak in a few instagrams while away, join me will ya?

Selamat Hari Raya to those celebrating the end of Ramadan here in Malaysia and have a great (and restful) weekend to you all!

friday pic & pin 14 With everyone talking about Fall being just around the corner, I'm psyching myself up for 24/7 summer living. It's a world of difference from last year when I barely saw the sun so this time around I'm definitely thankful to be closer to the equator.

This chair would be my perfect "endless summer" piece; reminiscent of the rattan furniture that Malaysia is known for but totally modern in material and with a retro design twist. I can imagine the shadows it casts while out on a sunny patio or inside a dining room with an overhead lamp. It's rocking my world, it really is.

Hopefully I find more endless summer inspirations while out and about this weekend. Have a good one and stay cool!

friday pic & pin 13 Happy friday guys! It's been a busy week but I'm not complaining. I still haven't done much with my office nook so when I saw this vintage + modern work setting I knew that I had found my inspiration. I already have the antique wood table (though would never think of painting it, Joe would kill me), a nice black chair has been on my list, and I do love black and white for artwork. That abstract painting is too awesome for words but the shop it's from is currently down for a re-launch next month (such a tease). However, it did give me the idea to unpack the vintage photos I bought last year in London's Camden Market. Do you remember the DIY wall decor I made with them? I think they'll look great above my desk but I might try a new display method to keep things fresh.  Do standby.

I hope you have great weekend finding inspiration all around ya!

  friday pic & pin 12

Happy Friday, everyone. Will you be watching the Olympics this weekend? I'm hoping to catch a re-play of the opening ceremony since we forgot to set the recording on our home TV. With all of the mayhem surrounding the events I can't decide whether I'm happy or sad that we're not there but nevertheless I'm excited to see glimpses of the places we came to know and love.

We'll be in Singapore through the weekend and so far so good. It's a world of difference from KL from what I can tell and it probably wasn't a good idea to come (because it is so nice). Will share more on that next week.

Until then, have a good one!

friday pic & pin 11 We have been itching to put some art our walls so maybe we'll get ambitious this weekend and buy the supplies to make it happen. As made obvious by my Pinterest Art Thou Wonderful board, I'm really drawn to impressionist and abstract style paintings and I'm loving this one by Kristy Gammill. If only it were available as a print! I could really use a dose of bright inspiration in my office nook...any recs on websites or artists I should check out for good selections? I have a difficult time committing to art since there's so much to choose from but  guess I could start by printing my own photographs. It would make a fun weekend project and I do like them. Hhhmmmm, food for thought...

Have a wonderful weekend and see ya back here on Monday!
