happy friday!

enjoy your weekend. Last night we watched the snow fall while sitting inside a cozy pub; it was such a special London moment. On our walk home I was literally skipping down the street like a little five-year old trying to taste snow flakes on my tongue. Why wasn't everyone else doing the same thing?!? Joe was totally surprised by my reaction for obvious reasons but I couldn't help myself. Snow-fall is so magical, so pretty, so delicate...there's absolutely nothing like it. It felt like a dream.

I hope this weekend brings you some magic. Have a good one, guys!

love letter press blocks Better yet, Happy February! It's my favorite month of the year for three reasons: 1) the anniversary of when Joe and I met  2) Valentine's Day and 3) my birthday. Actually, we really don't care too much about Valentine's Day (it should be every day - duh) but since it falls smack in the middle of the other two, we include it in what we call Valen-Birth-Sary. We coined the term last year after the month filled up with celebratory plans, shared love notes, gifts....and well, it's now an official holiday in our household :)

As for my birthday, we'll be back in LA for a visit at the end of the month and I can't think of a better way to spend it than to be surrounded by family and friends.

I hope you get to spend time with your loved ones this weekend or at least have the chance to connect with them if you're not near. Have a good one!

gone to marrakech!

Who says you need a full week or two to do something fun? We used to go to Palm Springs for our quick getaways but now we're headed to a new oasis and I couldn't be more excited! I won't let the fact that the forecast calls for cloudy skies and rain dampen my spirit - I'm sure the colors, flavors, and lively market squares will keep me smiling no matter what.

Can't wait to capture all of the details and share them with you next week. Until then have a wonderful weekend!

2011 in instagram Happy Friday, everyone! Christmas weekend (and the end of 2011) is here! It's the best time of year for many reasons but for me, it means that everything and everyone sloooowwss doowwnn.  It's when we give ourselves full permission to switch our minds and computers off and simply enjoy the people and places around us. Nothing gets done until January anyway, right?

We'll be spending the rest of the year here in jolly old London. It will be my first Christmas away from my family but I'm so excited for it to be the first with Joe (as a living-together couple, at least). We've made quite the nest here and have shared an incredible year with lots of new experiences and adventures. Thank you so much for following our shenanigans and for sharing your stories with me via comments and emails throughout the year. Even for you silent readers out there, thank you for sharing this little virtual space with me. It's pretty amazing that my personal experiences, photos, or thoughts could ever interest anyone other than my family and friends back home! I'm glad you're here and I can't wait for another year of who-knows-what.

Have a very merry Christmas and may you ring in the new year with lots of love and joy! See you in 2012!

IMG_6535 Okay so maybe this is a bit morbid to share on a "happy friday" post but on the day after Thanksgiving I'm still thinking about how incredible life is. It's not always easy but at the end of the day, we're all just lucky to be here perusing our own destinies and happiness. I love this inscription on a tombstone we came across in Devon last weekend: Life's race well run; Life's work well done; Life's crown well won; Now comes rest. It says it all - so simple and beautiful.

I really don't know where I'm going with this post but I let's just say that I'm feeling super thankful for everything.

I hope you all have wonderful weekend and take some time to do what you love and be with the people you care about the most. Enjoy!
