Happy New Year!!! Wait, can I still say that? It's still January so let's just roll with it.
I hope that your 2014 wrapped up nicely in fancy party or cozy pajama fashion. We kept it low key in our neighborhood and watched the giant acorn drop at midnight. Several cities in North Carolina have quirky countdown props and believe it or not, ours is the most normal (Raleigh is known as the City of Oaks so there's the logic). We got a kick out of it, enjoyed a quality firework show, and then called it a night. Joe had just flown in from a work trip and I was beat from prepping the house to start the new year oh so fresh and so clean.
It's been a fun and busy several months since my last post with lots of action on the work and home front. Ring Cozy is doing great and I'm finally getting to spend some time on other personal design projects. Really excited to launch them this year. No. More. Excuses.
Professionally, Raleigh feels like a great place to be right now. We've been meeting some awesome self-starting and entrepreneurial people and the overall energy pulsing through the city with new businesses opening up weekly is inspiring. There's a lot going on to keep things interesting and motivating.
Personally, Raleigh feels like the perfect place to um...I don't know...start a family :) If you follow me on instagram then you've been aware of the news but just in case you've missed those posts (or only check in via this blog - in that case, I'm sorry it's been since October!), we are having girl! We're expecting her sometime in early May and we've been busy prepping for her one way or another for the last six months. It's been a great pregnancy so far, not without it's discomforts, of course, but they're all welcome as part of the beautiful and awesome process of bringing her into this world.
With the past several years being so drastically different from one another, It's a strange but wonderful feeling to be making long-term plans and getting completely settled. All of our stuff is in our home, no longer in storage, and every day we feel like Raleigh is the best place for us for a good long while. Can't wait to see what this year holds.
