Saturday had to be one of the funnest full-day I've had in a while. Started off with a guided walking tour of "Downtown's Evolving Skyline", had lunch and took a break at Lost Souls Cafe on 4th St, was all feathers in for "World Pillow Fight Day" @ Pershing Square, attended a friend's art opening in Pasadena, then was back in Downtown for my brother in-law's birthday @ Seven Grand. Phew...no wonder I slept all day Sunday! See photos ... [gallery columns="2"]
Steps 6, 7 of 10, 11....
Finally got around to sewing all the bag shells I had cut and pressed a week or two ago. Definitely learning how to do things more efficiently every day I work on them!
Pockets were done too and all that's left is to sew the linings then put each bag together. Oh, and I need to order labels and more purse frames. If anyone knows where I can order woven satin labels for less than 1000 minimum, please let me know!
Music Radar
My friend Matt just returned from SXSW where he and his band, Graydon, did a show and received an AMAZING review from the Wall Street Journal:
It was one of those great SXSW experiences: Stumbling into a set by a band that’s not only all but unknown, but doesn’t seem to know how good it is.
Check out the complete review here and his myspace here... my fave track on there is "the question still remains"
Congrats Matt and Graydon!!!!
$1
It's World Water Week and the folks at UNICEF are making it easy for all of us to pitch in. For just one dollar, a child can have clean drinking water for 40 days.
Until March 28, participating restaurants will charge $1 for water they usually give for free. I'd be happy to give a buck every time I ask for a cup of H2O - let's make this thing permanent!

Squares Photoshoot
My friend Paul recently launched his clothing line Squares. He needed help showing two new women's shirts (on sale soon!) so we staked a spot on Signal Hill in Long Beach and got to work. It was a lot harder to "pose" than I thought but it was a blast. Chilly, but a blast . p.s. The shirts are super soft and comfy (Alternative Apparel organic cotton). Paul knows what the ladies like.

Myths About LA
Came across this list of perceptions people have about LA. I like the one refering to our beautiful greenscapes. I mean, driving on the 405 over the hill is pretty scenic (escpecially after it rains!).
Sneak Peak
Today was a cut-and-pin day. This typically means cutting the stabilzer and silks into my purse pattern. Before that can be done, however, I wash and air dry each scarf and then steam to remove any wrinkles. Above is one of the silk scarves in a gathered style. Can't wait to sew it together!
While some of the scarves dried I got started prepping buttons to create more magnets (and push-pins as requested by my friend Liza!). Check out the first set I made a few months ago here.
On a side note - I'm SUCH a proud auntie of an adorable pitbull, Pepper, that I had to post this! My sister took this picture of me and Pepper frolicking in Malibu after my mom's 50th b-day breakfast atGladstones (highly recommend their "Hangtown Fry" plate!!!)
Fashion, fries, and a large wiener
Stopped by the launch of the Trovata temporary space in Beverly Hills. I have always loved their seaward sensibility (they are based in Newport after all!) but there was one white top in particular that had me drooling. Had I not just paid my taxes I might have splurged!
Even more impressive was their decor - vintage treasures highlighted as works of art inside antiqued frames. Totally something I would do if I were to ever open a brick & mortar - it looked great.
Dinner was next on the agenda so we went a diner near by. Decided it was unnecessary to post a pic of my half eaten basket of fries BUT - what does qualify for a shot of glory is this:
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Needed some new scarves for the bags I'm working on so I headed to my hometown, Pasadena, for the Rose Bowl Flea Market.
I could literally spend all day there but I was on a mission: dig through this for scarves that are destined to be one-of-kind hand bags!
With the help of my friend Tina, I managed to get 23 great prints for thematic collections. Oh yeah that's right, I've got collections coming!
I caved ...
... and started a blog. Thanks for checking it out! It will be mostly for ANAMU ( my new handbag and accessories line) purposes but I'll sprinkle in some random everyday happenings too.
Let's get to it!
