I did whet my appetite in Ubud at the Art Kafe. Random yes, but it makes complete sense that there's Mexican food there since Aussies love a good burrito and Bali is full of Aussies.

I'm kind of obsessed with the bright pinks going on here. Maybe it's because I have Ring Cozy on my mind (I used a pink in the logo) and I'm all "thinky thinky" as Joe would say.
It's the final three days of the Kickstarter campaign and while I'm not giving up hope that anything can happen from now until Monday morning, I am working on how my plan B will roll out. I'm both a dreamer and a realist so I need to be prepared to keep the dream going!
Along with being thinky thinky I'm also feeling givey givey. I fell in love with the textiles from Sapa North Vietnam (talked about it here) so I made sure to buy an extra zip pouch to share with you!
It has a combo of embroidered and applique styles and the naturally dyed fabric gives it a gorgeous muted tone. Some pieces look like they might even be vintage ... it's a fascinating little pouch and I can't wait for one of you to call it yours!

Hi guys, Happy Friday! I had every intention to share photos from our Vietnam trip this week but I forgot to change the camera RAW settings and iPhoto isn't too pleased with the big data (hint: laptop is definitely due for a spring cleaning).
Will work on them this weekend but in the meantime here's a pic from our eco resort, Mango Bay, in Phu Quoc and a Pin of shorts that I'm desperately drooling over. They're by a Vietnamese designer, THU THU, who incorporates the beautiful textiles of the H'mong women of Sapa. Though we stayed in the South and Sapa is in the North, I managed to pick up a few handmade goodies while in Saigon, one of which I'll share with you next week and by share I mean give away ;)

Happy Friday! Will you be celebrating the weekend with your mom? If so, I'm totally jealous! I would give anything to be with my mom and sister (mom of two) this Sunday to toast to their ever present courage, support, inspiration, and love.
We're staying put in KL and have plans for a fun night out on Saturday with dinner and a concert. It's been too too long since we saw a show so I'm really excited. If you still haven't checked out the Ring Cozy Kickstarter project - what are you waiting for?! Go go go! Blogging is strange but wonderful. You put your thoughts, ideas, and creations out into the world without really knowing who might come across them and whether they'll care about them or not. I blog for fun and don't have any big blogger status ambitions but I feel incredibly lucky to have awesome readers who take the time to let me know how much they enjoy sharing in my adventures. I recently received the sweetest email from Emily in response to this post. In it she mentioned that her favorite series was Friday Pic & Pin and I have to admit, it's my favorite too. So, this post is for you Emily. Thank you for inspiring me to keep at my favorite photo-play despite thinking that I could live without it. My Pins and photographs just wanna play together too too much.
And that dress, I wish it were going with me to Vietnam next week; perfect for being on holiday or staying local and feeling like you are.

Happy Friday, guys. It's been a productive week so I can't wait to treat myself to the last remaining pieces from this awesome recipe. I didn't have parchment paper to create the "chocolate bark" it was intended for so I improvised and used silicone cupcake molds instead. They make nice little "chips" don't they? Aside from indulging, I'm hoping to finalize our plans for a mini Christmas break here in Malaysia...home sweet home :)

A little DIY I did for autumn was a flower votive using a ball of cotton twine - I know, so stupid simple but I love it! Thank you all SO so much for all of the love on yesterday's print shop launch! Feels great to have it up and open for you to enjoy. I think I'm going to frame a bunch of them and create a gallery above my desk; both as reminder of the things and places that inspire me and as tangible evidence that I can do anything that I set my heart on. I have some fun ideas for future print series so this is just the beginning!

Happy Friday guys! I'm so excited to enjoy KL this weekend...I'm really starting to fall in love with it here. I had a few key moments yesterday where I just thought "yes, this feels good" like when I helped guide a lovely couple visiting from Europe (felt like such a local), discovered a Colombian restaurant (hello soul food!), and enjoyed dinner under a canopy while it rained like crazy and the skies turned white with lightning. I recently made a list of things to see and do in/near the city and the goal is to do at least one of them each weekend that we are home. Top on the list is to visit a palm oil plantation so when I saw this vintage pattern of palm tree varieties I was instantly attracted to it. We'll see what we cross off the list this weekend. An upside to being sick this week? Having the excuse to sit on the couch and browse online for wedding dresses. I fell in love with this one by Parker and I could totally see myself wearing it again and again. That's what I'll be going for, a pretty dress that I can continue to enjoy even after saying "i do". Happy Friday, guys I'm ending my time in LA with a bang tonight - I'm off to Vegas! I'm going with my besties and even though I'll only be there for a little over 24 hours it's totally going to be worth it. The car ride alone has me giddy - four hours of solid one-on-one time with some of the people I love the most and hardly ever see? Yes please!
I fly back to LA tomorrow night and then Sunday is my final farewell. It's going to be a non-stop couple of days but hey, I have a thirteen hour flight to sleep it all off on. As the kids say these days, YOLO! Yeah, I had to google that...we'll see how this old lady fares in Vegas...

It's been a great week of catching up with friends all over town and getting local things done. I've literally been all over the map from orange county to the valley and Sunday will take me to the westside for a brunch in Venice. Each area has different memories and associations for me so it's almost as if each chapter of my life is a different zip code and I'm flipping through the pages as I drive along. It's a trip.
We'll see what stories are created this weekend.

Happy Friday, guys. Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? I'll be enjoying our home, working on some projects, and getting super excited for my visit to LA next month(!!!). Yep, Joe is making me go. I'm happy that he gave me the push to book the flights because I do miss my family and friends like CRAZY. I was trying to hold out until next year but my initial wish to visit every six months seems like it has to be reality in order to keep me going. Seeing this pin for a fancy quesadilla made me smile and think of the wonderful Mexican food I will soon devour. Cali, imma comin'!

TGIF - we're off to Vietnam for our first real beach holiday in SE Asia and I feel like a little girl on her last day of school. Joe and I have been really busy lately so I can't wait to get to the hotel/island and have no option but to just cchhiilll. It'll be four days of sun, sand, and maybe some rain. The tropical kind is okay though - I'll take a downpour while wearing a bikini rather than a coat any day!
I'll be back here on Wednesday but will probably sneak in a few instagrams while away, join me will ya?
